      卡塔爾政府計(jì)劃增加三星級(jí)別和四星級(jí)別的酒店數(shù)，而這些正是卡塔爾目前所欠缺的。卡塔爾旅游局的材料顯示，今年年初卡塔爾三星級(jí)、四星級(jí)酒店擁有的客房數(shù)不足4000間。五星級(jí)酒店情況稍顯樂(lè)觀，大約有4000間客房。卡塔爾政府的目標(biāo)是在2022年世界杯到來(lái)之際，全國(guó)至少要有9萬(wàn)間客房可供使用。
      根據(jù)卡塔爾方面報(bào)道，今年上半年卡塔爾的酒店入住率是61%。卡塔爾旅游局預(yù)期今年約有42家酒店開(kāi)業(yè)，但是經(jīng)過(guò)10月份修訂后，新開(kāi)業(yè)的酒店數(shù)定為28家。

      Following December 2nd’s announcement that Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament, tourism officials in the small Middle East state are turning their attention to increasing hotel inventory.
      Qatari officials plan to focus on adding hotel stock in the 3- and 4-star categories, which are not enough currently. As of the start of this year, Qatar had fewer than 4,000 guestrooms operational at those star levels, according to Qatar Tourism Authority. The 5-star hotel segment is slightly better represented, with about 4,000 guestrooms. Tourism officials are aiming for at least 90,000 guestrooms in operation by the start of the 2022 tournament.
      Qatar occupancy was 61% for the first half of this year, up from 59% year over year, QTA reports. QTA had anticipated about 42 new hotels to open this year, but estimates revised in October now peg that figure at 28.
